The research we do is translational—moving back-and-forth between controlled lab experiments and naturalistic field studies. Our goal is to translate the lessons from our research to inform social issues.
Our group is interested in questions like these
What features of situations are particularly potent in nudging people’s behavior?
In what domains (educational, social, professional, etc.)?
On what outcomes (attitudes, beliefs, interest, emotion, behavior)?
Through what mechanisms (motivation, need fulfilment)?
How durable is the impact of local situations (short-lived vs. longer-lasting)?
